Armani Casa continues to grow and, two years after the collection opened in the Armani/Via Manzoni 31 store (September 2000) and subsequently in Paris, New York and Los Angeles, it is now taking over new premises in Milan itself. While continuing to maintain a strong presence in Via Manzoni, from September 27th there will be a new store in Via Durini, a historically significant address for Armani as it was where the designer opened his very first Emporio Armani store over 20 years ago.
With its extensive floor space – over 1,000 square metres with 880 dedicated to display – the new Armani Casa store offers great refinement within a neutral setting. The Pietra Serena limestone floors and white tinted walls contrast with lit plexiglas and aluminium full wall displays and track lighting on the ceilings to recreate the soft and relaxed ambience of a real home. The central area is open to the full height of this two level store, offering spectacular opportunities to exploit the display potential of this unique space.
The ground floor is dedicated to ‘Living’ and ‘Dining’ and the first floor to ‘Night Time’ and there will also be a small selection of Giorgio Armani Homewear and small objects that Giorgio Armani has found on his travels around the world exclusively available to those who shop for the home in this new store.
Armani Homewear
Intimate and discreet elegance that conveys comfort and pleasure combined with style and luxury – this is the début appearance of Giorgio Armani Homewear: tunics, pyjamas, dressing gowns, djellabas, ankle length skirts in patterned velvet, heavy damask silk the colour of jewels, ruby red, emerald green, sapphire blue and jet black. A taste that is equally desirable to men, expressed in cashmere leisure suits, long, slim jackets with mandarin collars and drawstring trousers. Low mules for her, Friuli slippers for him.
A special and very personal selection of small, tasteful bibelots, rare items particularly prized by Giorgio Armani, accessories discovered on his world travels and brought home by this great connoisseur of style to give an intense dimension of exotic colour to home life: Exquisite vases covered in shagreen, reptile and shark skin, reminiscent of the sophisticated 1930s. Huge silver jewels made by the lost wax process, set with stones as they are found in nature. Cachepots in antiqued brass, table centre pieces and vases in Raku ware. Magnificent Murano glass vases and candles with a craquelet finish. Highly unusual items for the table such as a shagreen covered wine cooler. A whole world of taste and pleasure.
