Withdrawal of traditional men’s fashion
Complete concentration on Vibes4U
In future, KlnMesse will focus on young fashion for ladies and men; the trade fair for the traditional menswear sector will now not take place in August 2002. 'On 15th May 2002 we presented the new Herren-Mode-Woche concept to the members of the Association of the Menswear Industry, and Cologne received a clear vote of confidence as the location for the fair', said Wolfgang Kranz, Member of the Executive Board of KlnMesse GmbH. 'In spite of this positive response we did not receive the necessary confirmation that the companies would be taking part. This means that we no longer have a sound foundation upon which to successfully put our concept into practice. For this reason, KlnMesse has decided not to stage the fair for the traditional men’s and boys’ outerwear segment in summer 2002, and instead to focus all its attention on Vibes4U.'
'Our efforts are now focussed entirely on Vibes4U. Young fashion for ladies and men is a segment with real growth potential, and with Vibes4U we are setting the agenda for Cologne’s future as a fashion location. Here, in contrast to the men’s and boys’ outerwear sector, we have succeeded in creating a sense of a new beginning, and in attracting the sector’s interest in a completely new trade fair style. The expertise demonstrated by the Bread & butter team has of course made a significant contribution here. Cologne is where it’s at, and is therefore the perfect city in Germany for a jeans and young fashion event,' said Wolfgang Kranz, commenting on the future of the fashion fairs in Cologne.
Among the companies exhibiting at Vibes4U are: Blend, Mustang Jeans, Over Look, Pepe Jeans London, Tricia Jones, Firetrap, Eldo, Essenza, Italian Fashion, No Excess, Caramelo, Topaz, Mens Club, 4 You, Urban Trend, Midgard, Escape, Big Star and B & D.
