Fossil Announces Partnership With Wal-Mart to Produce Fashion Watch Line

Fossil, Inc. announced that it is working with Wal-Mart to design, manufacture and distribute a line of men's and women's fashion wristwatches under the George brand, one of Wal-Mart's premiere private label brands. In October 2005, the watch line became available exclusively in 550 Wal-Mart locations, with more Wal-Mart stores scheduled to carry the line in 2006.


“We are thrilled about partnering with Wal-Mart to develop and grow the George brand within the watch category,” said Doug Kramp, Senior Vice President of the Special Markets division at Fossil. “The GEORGE watch collection epitomizes affordable luxury by merging innovative watch styling with impeccable functionality.”


The men's and women's watches offer a variety of classic, fashion, and sporty styles with suggested retail prices ranging from $33-$60. By closely aligning its fashion sensibility with the GEORGE sportswear line, the GEORGE watch collection boasts Japanese quartz movement, stainless steel cases and bracelets, and genuine leather straps. Casual and chic styles feature oversized cases and degrade dials, combined with wide cuff or two-toned leather straps. Classic styles transition gracefully from daytime to evening with sleek clean lines and traditional dials with genuine diamond accents enclosed in a scratch resistant sapphire crystal. Additional features on select styles include chronograph, crystal embellishment, croco-embossed leather straps, and water resistant cases up to 100 meters.
