VF Jeanswear Limited Partnership, a division of VF Corporation announced today that it has named Steve Birkhold, 41, as president of its Earl Jean brand.
Most recently, Birkhold served as Vice President and General Manager for Lee's female business. He joined Lee in January of 1997. Previously, he was at the May Company, where he served as a merchandise manager in a variety of different businesses.
During his career at Lee, Steve was instrumental in several key product launches that led to increased market share, including the very successful Lee Jeans “one true fit” line.
“The Earl Jean brand has tremendous potential for continued growth, given the brand's strong image, great products, cutting-edge advertising and premium positioning in the market. I am delighted to be working with such a talented team,” Birkhold commented.
Birkhold and his family plan to relocate to the New York City area in the near future.
