Giorgio Armani Jeans apre a Roma

Giorgio Armani will travel to Rome tomorrow 16th July 2002 to celebrate the opening of a second Armani Jeans store in Rome, in Via Tomacelli 137. A cocktail party will be held in the new store, starting from 9pm and guests include Sofia Loren, Francesca Neri, Maria Grazia Cucinotta, Adriano Giannini, Claudia Gerini, Ornella Muti, Giuseppe Tornatore and Raoul Bova.

Much more than a Jeans boutique, the new store embodies Giorgio Armani's vision of the modern casual lifestyle that Armani Jeans represents and which combines a high-distribution, fashion sensibility with a true ecologically-based product philosophy. Spread over 250 square metres and one floor, the store offers everything for men and women from basic pieces� shirts, jeans, chinos etc – to more fashionable items � jackets, dresses, skirts � all of which are produced in fabrics or washed in processes that are aimed at safe-guarding the environment.

The store has been designed by Giorgio Armani together with an internal team of architects and has been completely revolutionised, in keeping with the Armani Jeans store in Milan in Armani/Via Manzoni 31, to resemble a fitness centre with floors and walls in rough-surface concrete, zinc plated tubes as clothes racks and fluorescent ceiling lights and tents as changing rooms.

Giorgio Armani says �We are always looking to create an environment where the store architecture supports the presentation of the collections in a way that is modern and accessible for our customers. The new Rome store is an example of this philosophy.
