The Christian Dior Group recorded first quarter organic sales growth (on a constant structure and exchange rate basis) up 11% over the comparable period in 2004, itself a quarter of strong growth.
The Christian Dior Group is announcing its figures under IFRS for the first time, comparing them with the first quarter of 2004 adjusted on the same basis.
LVMH recorded sales of 3,082 million Euros. The sales growth momentum since the beginning of the year is impressive with almost all business groups recording double-digit organic sales growth.
Following the strong growth of 2004, Christian Dior Couture continued to experience good growth momentum in the first quarter of 2005 : sales reached 146 million Euros, an increase of 9% on a constant exchange rate basis (8% at current exchange rates). Growth was particularly strong in the United States and in Asia (including Japan), where sales grew by 20% and 25% respectively.
The Groupe Christian Dior confirms its objective of a further tangible growth in operating income for 2005.
