Polo Ralph Lauren Corporation announced today that Lillian Wang von Stauffenberg and Lauren DuPont have accepted positions in the women's design group. Ms. Wang von Stauffenberg will join the Company on August 6, 2001, as fashion director of women's design, reporting to Buffy Birrittella, executive vice president of women's design. Ms. DuPont will assume the role of senior design director for women's accessories effective September 10, 2001. She will report to Bonnie Pressman, senior vice president of women's accessories.
As fashion director of women's design, Ms. Wang von Stauffenberg will work with Ralph Lauren's design, merchandise and retail groups. Previously, Ms. Wang von Stauffenberg served as fashion director, women's for Bergdorf Goodman where she advised merchants on trends and colors, sourced new designers and directed buys to accommodate trends. Before joining Bergdorf Goodman, she was senior market editor of Elle magazine. Ms. Wang von Stauffenberg also held positions in public relations at both Michael Kors and Calvin Klein.
In her new role, Ms. DuPont will contribute to the design and creative direction of Ralph Lauren accessories including handbags, eyewear and jewelry. Most recently, she served as fashion director of Style.com, the online home of VOGUE and W magazines and the flagship website of CondeNet, a division of The Conde Nast Publications. Ms. DuPont previously spent eight years at VOGUE magazine, where she rose to the position of accessories editor. She also served as senior fashion editor and contributing editor of the magazine.
